Backstory

Theodosia was the daughter of James Moore, a wealthy landowner, and Adelaide Moore. However, life can be cruel at times, and Theodosia was very much aware of this. During her and her twin sisters' birth Adelaide unfortunately passed during birth, having lost too much blood. And while James mourned, he did not blame his daughters, his angles. When they laughed he saw his wife, and so he made it so they wanted for nothing. But tragedy struck again, at just the age of three, Theodosia’s sister caught cholera. After months of illness, she succumbed to it, and her father never seemed to recover. This drove him to the bottle and mad, nights would be spent wallowing in sadness and the drink. And, eventually, he found himself in a sanatorium, leaving Theodosia, at the age of three an orphan.

After being taken to a home, one that she will not speak of, she eventually aged out of it and found her way through the streets. And, for all that happened to her, Theodosia was bright, reading and writing and even math. Things that many women could not do, but she excelled, finding odd jobs until she landed a job as a schoolteacher. This job brought her to California where the rush brought many people to the area. Where she was caring and always seemed to make the days of her students, young and old, brighter. And she loved her students, even if the pay was not much, it was enough to get by and make a difference in the lives of students. However, like most things, they come to an end. Week after week people slowly began to leave, in search of the next thing, and, that left her without a job. Her students are gone or too old to be taught. While bittersweet she knew this would happen. So, like she had before she did odd jobs, doing her best to find another job changing the lives of students. This was where she found the ministry, while it was not probably the place she would have thought to look, she walked in and introduced herself. Theodosia was taken in, and there she blossomed helping where she could. For the first time since losing her father, she had a family.

And, just like her life things seemed to from happy to sad. Things changed within the ministry when Alejandro left and it seemed to be up to her and the other sisters of sin, she learned to call them, to keep this place afloat. So, she and the others did so. Most worked day in and day out to keep things running, however, the epidemic spread around them. Tuberculosis. Daily there would be a higher body count and many lives lost. Even a few of the sisters passed in the night. Theodosia, being used to such things kept her head up, even when the bloody coughs began. After cleaning up a space, she felt light-headed. However, she would not rest till her list of things was done, she couldn’t. During her walk she stood before her beloved painting, seemed to blink for a moment and soon she was flying, the world went by slowly, and, in a gasp there was nothing. She was gone. From the other side she heard the whispers and sobs, and when she tried to speak it was unheard, or appeared to be. So, she found herself wandering the halls, always finding herself drawn back to a lovely painting of a garden. A painting she often stared at when she lived. It was where she imagined one day having a picnic or just wandering along the flowers. And, it was the last thing she saw before, nothing. She resides in the storage place with the painting unaware how much time has passed.  Traits

To define your character's traits, you will be asked to roll 2 D10 dice, add up the scores, and place them in your attributes. Please be honest with your rolls! We want this to be a fun community, so as long as all rolls are honest, this should be a grand time! I will use the famous DND explanation of the traits!

Papas get a +2 in resolve and arcana but must take a -2 in Tech. A Ghoul or Demon gets an automatic +2 to either strength, Stealth, or Arcana but not all 3. Witches get a +1 to Arcana. Humans take a -2 to arcana but a +1 in either stamina, strength, or Dexterity. Werewolves get a +3 to strength but take -2 on stealth and arcana. Vampires get a +2 on both charisma and resolve but take -3 on stamina and strength.

Powers and abilities

Having powers and supernatural abilities is a great way to bring a bit of zest to the forum. They don’t have to be used in just combat either! You can use them to add to the world-building of your character. But for every power, there must be a limit or weakness to them.

Ex. If you have Telepathy, the size of objects you can move is related to what you could move by hand

Or

Any elemental ability is limited to and affected by your surroundings/how much stamina you have

Levitation / flight - Being that she is a ghost, she can fly around the ministry and hover. Though because of this she can not touch things or people. And nothing can in turn touch her.

Cold presence - Sometimes, when she is around, you can fill a chill in the air.

Invisibility - If she does not want you to see her, you will not see her.

Can possess things / people - It is unlikely she would possess someone unless it is a last resort or needed. But she will possess things like phones, computers or music players.

Seeing the other side- Since having long since past, she can see the other side, yet she does not dare walk to it. She wants to remain in this world and live her ‘life’ for what it is worth.

Poltergeist like telepathy - She can throw objects without touching them and short distances and turn things on / off and open / close doors. However if she is very mad things can become much worse.

Extras

When she is around you smell roses or the smell of clean linens

Sometimes if you listen you can hear what sounds like an old time record player playing (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXRdKhQsZ6c&list=RDNXRdKhQsZ6c&start_radio=1) even when there is no record player.
