Wedding Day!

As the party died down, the people began to take their leave slowly, Dahlia thanked them all as she yawned. While nerves had started to consume her, they were happy ones, as any happy bride would have. Especially when marrying the love of their lives. Dahlia and her few sleepover guests made their way to a room they’d occupy for the night. Though she admitted she missed being in the bed with Copia, she felt safer there. He’d always make her feel that way. Throughout the few hours of sleep, she got she had a few nightmares, the nerves did it, what if he stood her up? What if he changed his mind? So, instead, she lay thinking of all the plans they could make, the world they’d make.

As the morning sun woke her up, though she had hardly slept. Excitement and nerves had kept her up, most of the night she spent messing with the bracelets she and her friends had made. Dahlia sat up and tried to tame her hair, at least till she got to the shower. After thanking those who spent the night with her, she showered and then waddled her way outside to sit in the morning sun. Moros followed suit and sat with her, she thought of everything and nothing all at once. What would her nonna think if she were here? Would she be proud? Or shun her like her parents? It broke her heart that they were not there, her eyes glanced at her phone, it worried her that Klaus said he would do his best to be there. What if he wasn’t? Who would give her away? Put on the veil? These were things that were important to her, even if they seemed old-fashioned. Rubbing the swell of her stomach she hummed to herself until she decided it was time to get ready.

“Moros, oggi ti conviene comportarti bene. E auguriamo agli antenati che il corpo guarisca, se solo la nonna potesse essere qui. Solo per darmi un consiglio o un po' di conforto.” Dahlia pets Moros, who perched on her shoulder, “but I am sure she is here, no? She always is, even if I can not see her.” Getting to her ‘dressing’ room, she stood admiring the dress, it was lacey and black, simple, yet she loved it. And she couldn’t wait for Copia to see her in it, the smile he would give her, even that made her feel like she was flying. Dahlia turned on some music and let it fill the room, humming along, Dahlia began to try to do her makeup, though, unlike most days, today, Dahlia's hands were far too shaky. “Fanculo.” She hoped she could find someone to help her, so she decided to text the group chat, after someone responded, Celeste, which she was so happy for. Dahlia set up the possible make up items she’d need, after doing so she sat and took some time to rest and wait. In the back of her mind she worried about small things, though none of them were that important. She was marrying Copia, and from that point on she’d have her home.

Louise sat beside Dahlia and took the Prima's hand in hers, running her thumb over the back of her hand in an attempt to comfort Dahlia.
