"I'm In So Much Trouble.."
Mara sighed, tears already welling in her eyes, as she kept her face down on the walk to Klaus' office. The nutrigrain bar was smushed now, her having stepped on it after it fell out of her hands- apparently, she actually couldn't walk and text.
While she wasn't necessarily trying to stall to see her father figure, she wasn't exactly sprinting either. Rather she kept a neutral pace, mentally and physically preparing herself for prolonged screaming and however hard the man could hit, knowing damn well she deserved it from their point of view. She felt small again, like she was 10 and had accidentally spilled water on the carpet on the way to her room. Erin gave her an earful that night, and a good ol' smack to set her straight. Mara be damned if she ever did that again.
Soon enough she was outside his office, and trying hard to keep a straight face. She gave the door a hesitant knock, all the while thinking-
'I'm in so much trouble..'

"Hehheh, you are welcome. And none taken. I am excited to see what your eyes will look like. I have seen blue, yellow, green, orange, but never purple. Maybe you will be the first?" "That sounds like a wonderful idea, my darling," indeed did the Cardinal smile at his daughter's antics, the age lines of his face tilting with his smile, "how about we get Celeste and I will make breakfast for you both? I hardly get to do it as often as I used to since coming here. It is of my favorite ways to spend my time with my family. Anything you want, and I will do my very best for you." He laid a soft kiss to the top of her forehead and pulled her in for one more full hug, "I am so happy that you are back, jacinthe violette. I am sorry that you were scared to come tell me about what had happened during the trip. I do not want you to feel like I am going to yell or harm you when all you wanted was some guidance. I love you, Mara."
